2.3 Miles of 96-inch Welded Steel Pipe

Bids was opened on the Spanish Fork Canyon Pipeline – Reach 1 on October 23, 2007, and a Notice to Proceed for materials followed.  The Notice to Proceed with field work was scheduled for May 22, 2008, and the contract completion date is scheduled for November 30, 2009.  Construction of the 96-inch welded steel pipeline will be along the northeast shoulder of State Route 6.  The SFCP–R1 will connect to the Diamond Fork Pipeline near the mouth of Diamond Fork Creek and extend 2.3 mile to Covered Bridge.  An isolation valve structure, the Spanish Fork River Flow Control Structure Addition, will be constructed near the existing flow control structure to provide a means to close the pipeline in case of emergency.  The operating pressure of the SFCP-R1 is approximately 250 psi.
