Power GenerationTwo power generating facilities would be constructed in the Diamond Fork Creek Drainage where existing CUP water conveyance facilities are located. A 5 megawatt generator would be constructed near the existing Upper Diamond Fork Flow Control Structure. This facility would generate energy from the pressure head provided by the Tanner Ridge Tunnel and Upper Diamond Fork Pipeline. An existing buried 25 KV transmission cable would convey the energy created to the Sixth WAter Creek substation. A 45 MW generator would be constructed immediately before the crossing of Sixth Water Creek at the lower end of the Sixth Water Aqueduct. The pressure head at this generator would be dependent on the water surface elevation in Strawberry REservoir. An existing power line would be upgraded to 138 Kv to convey the energy from both generators to the power grid connection near the Rays Valley Road turnoff from Highway 6. |
